Andy Warhol, Folding Screen- Shoes (c. 1950)

This painted and gilded Folding Screen was treated at The Andy Warhol Museum to clean and address structural damages in preparation for loan.

Inuit Carving in Stone

 



This sculpture was previously repaired with a foaming adhesive. After reversing the previous repair, the foot was reattached with a more appropriate adhesive and losses were filled, smoothed, and toned to match surrounding areas.

Japanese Warrior Doll (c. 1840)

 

 


This is one of a collection of forty-four Japanese Dolls, which were conserved for the Maridon Museum in Butler, PA.

French Table Clock (c. 1870)

 




This clock was damaged in transit. A panel was detached from the top and numerous fragments were missing from the peak. The panel was reattached and extant fragments were reconstructed. Losses were filled, smoothed, and toned to match surrounding areas.

Time Capsule (c. 1852)

 


This glass Time Capsule was recovered in 1996 from the cornerstone of the Sewickley United Methodist Church in Sewickley, PA. Due to more recent damage, it was broken into approximately 57 fragments. Upon reconstruction of extant pieces, major losses remained which compromised the structural integrity of the vessel. A total of 15 pieces were fabricated to compensate for losses.

Dr. Mao Yisheng, Bronze Sculpture (2006)

 



This outdoor bronze sculpture and plaque at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh were treated to reduce corrosion products and other environmental deposits. After cleaning, a protective coating of wax was applied.

Wooden Crucifix

 



This polychromed and gilded crucifix was structurally damaged due to a fall. Areas of damage were stabilized, losses were filled and toned to match surrounding areas.
